Singer/songwriter Jake La Botz plays roots music that reflects his time performing in streets, bars, churches, and even tattoo parlors. You can also hear the various places La Botz has lived in his music — including his time in New Orleans, the Mississippi Delta, and his native Chicago where, as a young man, he found kinship with some of the last of the pre-war era bluesmen: David “Honeyboy” Edwards, “Homesick” James Williamson, and “Maxwell Street” Jimmy Davis. In 2017 and 2019 Jake released his studio albums Sunnyside and They’re Coming for Me on Hi-Style Records to critical acclaim. Produced by Jimmy Sutton, both albums won Independent Music Awards. Jake has toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe and has shared the stage with Ray Charles, Etta James, Dr. John, Mavis Staples, JD McPherson, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, Tony Joe White, Low Cut Connie and a host of other greats.

We are honored to welcome Jeff Howlett to Temple Tattoo & Piercing’s 30th Anniversary Celebration!
Jeff Howlett is a multidisciplinary artist known for his work across music, film, and photography. He began his career in Vermont in 1993 as a vocalist and songwriter with the bands Five Seconds Expired and Non Compos, both of which earned regional and national recognition. Both bands are currently on a reunion tour, reflecting the lasting influence of their music.
In 2007, Jeff expanded his creative practice into film, co-producing the award-winning documentary A Band Called Death. The film chronicles the legacy of the pioneering 1970s rock band Death, whose music was rediscovered decades after its original release. A Band Called Death premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival in 2012, receiving widespread critical acclaim.
After the success of the film, Jeff turned his focus to still photography, embracing alternative processes as his primary medium. He has since collaborated with a diverse range of musical artists, including US Girls, Iggy Pop, and Queens of the Stone Age. His work has been featured in Photography Magazine, Tape Op, Lomography.com, and other publications.
Through his work, Jeff continues to explore the synergy between music and visual art, creating compelling narratives and contributing to the cultural landscape with his innovative and dynamic approach to storytelling.
Jeff will be set up at the Ohio Tattoo Museum on May 1st and May 2nd as part of Temple Tattoo & Piercing’s 30th Anniversary Celebration.

In a career spanning over 50 years, Jorma has become one of the most respected interpreters of American roots music, blues, and Americana, while also helping shape rock history. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member and Grammy nominee, he is a founding member of two legendary bands: Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna.
Jorma has also been part of tattoo culture for decades — getting tattooed long before it was fashionable for rock musicians, including work from Lyle Tuttle, Ed Hardy, the Martynuiks at Picture Machine, and many others. Now in his 80s, he’s still getting tattooed.
